What we do, and what we are not
What we do is narrow. We buy pre-owned Hermès from private owners, check each piece against five physical tests before it is listed, and bring the piece to the buyer to inspect before any payment. There is no cart, no checkout and no account.
What we are not matters as much, and it belongs here rather than in a footer. We are not an official, authorised or licensed Hermès retailer, stockist, boutique or partner. We have no affiliation with Hermès and we do not act on its behalf. Hermès does not authenticate pieces sold outside its own channels and issues no certificate to a reseller, so nobody here can offer you one. Hermès, Birkin, Kelly and Constance are trade marks of Hermès International, used on this site to describe the pieces we sell.
The people
This whole site rests on five physical tests performed by one person, and until that person is named the claim has nobody behind it. So they are named here, with what they have actually done rather than a title.

There is no team section here listing faces you cannot verify. If a person appears on this page it is because they do the work described beside their name, and the photograph is of them.
What you are entitled to ask is who examined the specific piece you are looking at, what they looked for, and what would have made them reject it. The method is written out on the provenance page. The name is here. A dealer who gives you the method and not the name has told you half of it.
How a piece gets here
Every piece on this site was bought from a private owner. Nothing here came from Hermès and nothing here is new.
A piece offered to us goes through the same five tests as a piece we sell: stamp and date code, leather and grain, saddle stitching, hardware and touret, and condition. A piece that fails any one of them is not bought, which means it is never listed either. The tests run on the way in rather than on the way out, and that is deliberate.
What a seller is told is what we found, including the parts that lower the offer.
What we will not do
Five things this business does not do. Each one is checkable and each one is here because the alternative is common.
We publish no star rating and no review count, and there is no review markup anywhere on this site.
What you get instead is the name of the person who checked the piece and the chance to inspect it yourself.
We do not offer a Hermès certificate, because no such thing exists for a reseller.
What you get instead is a named physical examination with the method written out in full.
We do not sell a piece to someone who has not seen it, unless they ask us to.
What you get instead is a representative who travels to you and leaves if the answer is no.
We do not press anyone at a viewing.
Nothing is paid until you have said yes to one specific piece.
We do not list a piece that failed a check.
It goes back to the seller rather than onto the site at a lower grade.

What we cannot promise

We cannot promise a piece will be available.
Every piece is one of a kind, and sourcing a particular size, leather and colour sometimes fails. When it fails you are told, rather than kept waiting.
We cannot promise what a piece will be worth later.
Hermès bags have held value better than most handbags, and what any one bag holds depends on size, leather, colour, hardware and condition. Anyone quoting you a percentage is quoting something they cannot stand behind.GATE 16, confirmation only, no value claim is made here
We cannot offer a Hermès authentication.
The five tests are a physical examination by a named person, and Hermès does not authenticate pieces sold outside its own channels.
We cannot quote a price before the piece is identified.

No. We are an independent dealer on the secondary market with no affiliation to Hermès, and we are not an official, authorised or licensed Hermès retailer, stockist or partner. Hermès does not appoint resellers and does not authenticate pieces sold outside its own channels. Anyone claiming otherwise is claiming something that does not exist.
Who checks the bags?

Can I meet you before I buy anything?
Yes, and it is how this normally works rather than a concession. A representative brings the piece to you, you take as long as you want with it, and you may bring your own authenticator. If you decide against it, nothing is owed and nothing is paid.
